'American songwriter' - that's Kreg's preferred description of himself. He's an artist who consciously sidesteps being labelled or categorized, but his career as restless troubadour and observer of life places him firmly in the classic US songwriter tradition that stretches back to the 1960s, and beyond. Kreg's previous independently released CDs, MANY RIVERS (2000) and KREG VIESSELMAN (2002), demonstrated his music's development from stripped-down folk-blues toward a warmer, richer blend of styles - a hint of Southern gospel/soul here, a Celtic lilt there - and with THE PULL, the music of Kreg Viesselman reaches full maturity.
Born in a small midwestern town, Viesselman lives far beyond his 30 or so years. Having worked as a sailor, farmhand, mountain guide and teacher, Viesselman’s varied experiences in life have given him an insight into the darkness, hope and humour of the everyday person, reflected with a rare poignancy through his music.
Viesselman’s reputation has grown rapidly through playing the European and U.S. circuit and tour dates are regularly added to this page (please see below).

Reviews
'This guy is goood…he is writing some great stuff.'
TAJ MAHAL
'Viesselman’s songs have a sage, hardened pathos that’s hardly pretty boy stuff. It’s not exactly what he says, but how he says it, wherein the genuine power lies. He delivers silvery, potent lines that are killer in substance. No disappointment here, Viesselman has a charmed beauty all his own.'
DIRTY LINEN
'Kreg Viesselman writes songs that dig a little deeper into the recesses of the brain. In the great tradition of Irish songwriters like Van Morrison and Shane McGowan, Viesselman’s blue eyed country fried soul resides in that special realm that seems to defy the sands of time and absorbs the hard knocks of life. There is an underlying state of grace that brings the subtleties of simple song to a complexity that resounds in the emotions of the listener. Viesselman himself possesses a wonderful voice, full of whiskey and rye, which allows him to emote with one syllable and to bring an audience right along with him. The songs he writes resonate with everyman because they’re chock full of everyday experiences that we all feel we have. Outstanding.'
