Sharam is the bands singer/songwriter and guitarist. Of Indian origin with a western upbringing he has travelled extensively throughout India and America performing his music. Speaking of his recent year-long trip to the US, Sharam says 'I would just show up in a town and try to hustle a gig. It was a lot of fun. I made lots of friends and my music was really well received there.' Drawing on his experiences from travelling and friendships lost and found, he writes fresh and often thought-provoking lyrics. Combine these with his music and you have something quite special.
Fred who also plays guitar and is a founder member of the band, often leads the playing as well as adding to that all-important rhythm. Influenced by jazz and blues, Fred also has a passion for flamenco and has travelled to Spain to study this invigorating and challenging discipline. Being of African Caribbean origin and with a head of heavy locks, he's not your average looking flamenco guitarist!
Mitz provides second vocals and forms part of the percussion line-up. Singing has always been one of her loves and as Sharam's sister the talent runs in the family, this may also explain why their voices work so well together.
James plays African drums as well as many other percussion instruments, some of which Panjaea's audiences have never seen before.
Clive completes the percussion line-up and like James, plays a wide and varied range of instruments. He is also a widely known storyteller, catching audience's imagination with tales from around the world, all of which he illustrates with his drumming.
