| About The Studio |
|
Red Kite Studio was set up as a recording facility to record quality performed music. Originally an old cow byre, Red Kite Studio has been beautifully transformed and boasts wide oak floorboards, high vaulted ceilings and handcrafted console surround. It was designed to optimise the potential for creative expression giving music an organic, honest and vibrant sound so often lost in modern records where recording techniques reliant on hi-tech equipment and gimmickry can take precedence over the essence of the music itself.
The studio is the design of internationally renowned sound designer and award winning producer, Martin Levan:

'I wanted to design a studio that would minimise creative barriers between musicians. By enabling musicians to work in as dynamic and natural sounding an environment as possible untainted by excessive electronic manipulation and control, the potential for communication between musicians is maximised, thereby inspiring them and raising the height of their performance to push the boundaries of musical excellence.' |

Situated in the heart of the Welsh countryside on a tranquil 160 acre estate, bordered by the Brecon Beacons to the east and rolling green hills to the west, Red Kite Studio is a great place for musicians to gain creative inspiration and to record their music away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The sense of relaxation was vital to Martin’s concept for the studio, with daylight being an intrinsic part of the design criteria. Wonderful views can be enjoyed from large windows in both the control and live rooms, with double doors opening onto patio areas. Comfortable on-site accommodation is available for clients within a stones throw of the studio.
